Artificial turf installation in Soboba Springs and Park Hill
Artificial turf installation in the Soboba Springs and Park Hill neighborhoods of San Jacinto runs $9 to $14 per square foot installed. Most yards here need six inches of over-excavation because of expansive clay, then four inches of Class II base compacted in two lifts. Turf carries a 16-year manufacturer warranty.

The dirt on this side of San Jacinto is the whole job.
Park Hill lots off Mountain Avenue and the older parcels running toward Soboba Road sit on clay that swells after a February storm and then shrinks hard by the second week of July. Turf laid straight on that native soil will read fine the first year and show a slow wave across the middle of the yard by the second summer. We have pulled up other people's work to fix exactly that.
So we over-excavate to six inches on these lots instead of the usual four. Class II base goes back in, compacted in two lifts to 90 percent, screeded flat with a fall of about an inch every eight feet toward the side yard so water leaves the pad instead of parking under the backing.
What does artificial grass cost in San Jacinto?
$9 to $14 per square foot installed for residential turf. A 700 square foot backyard usually lands near the middle of that. Custom putting greens run $18 to $28 per square foot, and most of the ones we build out here are 300 to 500 feet with three cups.
Access moves the number more than anything else. A yard we can back a dump trailer up to costs less than one where the crew wheelbarrows four tons of base through a 36 inch side gate. Steve walks the gate before Bill writes the number.
Wind, heat, and the pass
Afternoons in August sit at 105 to 110 here, and the wind that comes down through the San Gorgonio Pass carries grit into everything. Two things follow from that. Perimeter edges get bender board and six inch nails at six inches on center rather than the twelve inch spacing you see on a cheap bid, because a lifted edge in that wind turns into a lifted seam. And we brush silica infill in at roughly one and a half to two pounds per square foot to hold the blades upright and keep the backing weighted down.
Full sun also means surface temperature. Turf gets hot in direct August sun and no installer can honestly tell you otherwise. On yards with no afternoon shade we talk about a pet-friendly turf layout that keeps a shaded run for the dogs, or a pergola over the section people actually use.
Golf course tracts and HOA submittals
Several of the tracts around the country club side of Soboba Springs have an association that reviews yard changes before work starts. We will send you the turf spec sheet, pile height, face weight, and infill type in one PDF so you can submit it without chasing us for paperwork. That step costs nothing and saves a week.
Gophers are the other neighborhood problem. On lots backing open ground we set galvanized mesh under the base rock, because a gopher coming up under finished turf leaves a soft spot you can feel through your shoe.
What we install here
Turf, sod, and hardscape all get built by the same crew. Bill quotes the job, Steve runs the install, and the people who measured your yard are the ones kneeling on the base. Common combinations in San Jacinto backyards are turf plus a paver patio, turf plus a backyard putting green, or a full artificial turf installation with decorative rock along the fence line.
Half the yards we build are a mix of surfaces. There is no rule saying the whole back has to be one thing.
If we built your yard off Soboba Road or up in Park Hill, mention the neighborhood and the work when you leave a Google review. It helps neighbors find us more than anything we write ourselves.
