We dig the trench, compact the subgrade, and lay a level gravel base. This is the most important step -- a bad base means a failed wall.
Blocks go up course by course with proper setback. Drainage gravel and pipe go behind the wall. Cap stones are glued on top, and the site is cleaned up.
We primarily work with interlocking concrete block systems like Allan Block and Belgard. These are engineered for structural integrity and come in a range of colors and textures. For decorative accent walls, we also use natural stone and stacked stone veneer depending on the design.
In most Inland Empire cities, walls over 4 feet tall require a building permit and may need engineered drawings. Walls under 4 feet typically do not need a permit, but setback and drainage requirements still apply. We handle the permit process for you when needed.
